This book is really packed with wonderful anecdotes about Lincoln and those around him. I've read a great deal about our 12th president and I found a lot that was new to me in this volume.I expected more detail about his time at the Soldiers' Home but I doubt that there is really much to tell in detail. There were some good stories and some details about the boys who guarded him there.Another good memoir by the soldiers of Scott's 900 tells their experiences of guarding Lincoln. Scott's 900: The Story of a Regiment (Abridged, Annotated)
