As an avid reader of historical nonfiction, I love learning about significant eras in history that shaped the world we live in today. That being said, I find that a well-written historical fiction book can be a great way to introduce oneself to an area of history they are unfamiliar with and this book does that exceedingly well. It's very accessible while providing the reader with enough historical background to make them appreciate the significance of the era and the circumstances through the which the characters are moving through. The author is clearly well-versed in the subject matter and his passion for telling his story shows. If you have any interest in history, you should give it a read!
